Jammin’ It Up On The 4th of July Weekend!

When are black raspberries ready to pick?  By the 4th of July!

I once again, donned my long pants and long sleeved shirt and headed down the hill.  It took over 2 hours to pick just over 2 1/2 quarts.  With a jar of fruit pectin and a bowl of black raspberries, this time, I cooked up a batch of jam….

Looks pretty tasty! Since mine won’t be mature enough this year to yield more than a handful…I’m going to get some fresh strawberries, raspberries and blackberries to make bumble berry jam 🙂
Did you see recipe I posted for jam on FB? I’m thinking of trying since it’s gluten free by substituting pectin with chia seeds…worth a try!

  2. Meant to say fresh from local Farmer’s market!
